SBG Systems has announced the upcoming release of the Pulse-20 inertial measurement unit (IMU) and the commercial availability of the Pulse-80, expanding its IMU product portfolio to three performance levels.
<p><strong>The Pulse-20</strong>, described as a sub-miniature, industrial-grade IMU, will be available before year-end. The compact unit targets applications requiring high performance in limited space.</p> <p><strong>The Pulse-40</strong> represents tactical-grade performance, while the <strong>Pulse-80 </strong>delivers what the company calls FOG-level performance without the size, weight and cost associated with traditional fiber-optic gyroscopes.</p> <p>All three models share the same software interface and undergo temperature calibration and qualification testing, according to the company.</p> <p>The IMUs target multiple industries including unmanned vehicles, munitions guidance and navigation, electro-optical systems, mobile and surveying applications.</p> <p>The Pulse-80 is currently available worldwide.
